Building the right team is a crucial step in a successful start-up journey. In "Team Formation", we will focus on guiding you on forming a strong and complementary start-up team. 

The Perfect Mix of Start-up Team

Venue: Creative Arts Room, 1/F, MMW Library​

Topic 1: Ideation & Opportunity Recognition 
Learn how to generate creative ideas and identify potential market opportunities. You will learn how to identify problems in the market and develop viable solutions that can form a successful business venture.


Topic 2: User Research & User Journey 
Understand your target audience through comprehensive user research. This topic covers methods to gather insights, map user journeys, and analyze competitors. Learn how to create personas and journey maps that ensure your product or services meet real user needs and stand out in the competitive landscape. 

Topic 3: Build and Visualize Your Produc
Transform your idea into a tangible product. This session includes prototyping, UI/IX principles, using tools like Figma to visualize your product, enabling you to iterate designs and improve functionality before full-scale development. 

 

Topic 4: Business Concept & Profitable Business Model
Learn about business models, value propositions and financial planning to ensure your venture can generate sustainable revenue and growth.
 

Topic 5: Branding & Marketing 
Create a strong brand identity and marketing strategy. This session covers brand positioning messaging, and online marketing channels to build awareness and attract customers.

 

Topic 6: Customer Acquisition & Partner Engagement 

Strategies for acquiring customers and forming valuable partnerships. Learn about sales funnels, customer retention and networking. This session also covers key metrics like Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) and Lifetime Value (LTV) to optimize your marketing spend and maximize long-term profitability.



Topic 7. Storytelling & Pitching 
This topic focuses on crafting compelling narratives, presentation skills, and engaging potential investors or customers with a clear and persuasive pitch.


Topic 8. How to Survive: Secure Start-up Funding 
Navigate the complexities of start-up funding from pre-seed to Series A, B, and C rounds. This module explores various funding options, including self-sustained funding and external investments. Learn strategies to secure the necessary financial resources at each stage of growth, ensuring your start-up's long-term viability.

 

Topic 9. Difficulties You Will Encounter in Being a Founder
You will learn about market segmentation, targeting, positioning, marketing channels, branding and customers acquisition strategies. You will gain insight into how to effectively reach your target customers and promote the product or services in the market

 

Topic 10. Social Entrepreneurship: Profitable Business Solving Social Issues

You will explore the concepts, principles, and characteristics of social entrepreneurship and understand its potential for creating a positive social impact.

Training 

**Students who attended 80% or above training will receive ELAT hours (Category B) 

Embark on guided tours to the community and visit local enterprise. You can get an up-close look at the community and start-up. This immersive experience will broaden your horizons and provide you with insights and perspectives that can shape your start-up aspirations. 

Community Visit 

Date: Mid-Nov 2024 (Sat)
Time: Half Day (TBC) ​

You will have an opportunity to present your business idea to your mentor. Share your vision, challenges and goals, your assigned mentor will offer you guidance on market validation, business strategy product development, and more, helping you refine your idea and create a solid foundation for succes.

Internship

Apr - Aug 2025​

You will have an opportunity to present your business idea to your mentor. Share your vision, challenges and goals, your assigned mentor will offer you guidance on market validation, business strategy product development, and more, helping you refine your idea and create a solid foundation for succes.
